OUR CHILDREN, THEIR LIFE AND THE HUMANITY'S FUTURE!

I open the newspaper to read reports about rapes, which is growing more and more barbaric and violent as time moves on. I listen to rape cases which are not reported in the newspaper, disclosed to none, but poured out to me at an emotional moment as his life coach. Yes, ‘HIS’. On my regular morning walk I see men ogling at women walkers in Capri pants and leggings.  I come across real life stories of how new age guys and girls are emotionally insecure and are being treated like doormat by their partner.

“The society is mean and not safe”, “Men are nasty and cultureless”, “Women are materialistic and evil”. Of late, these words frequent my ears. People are quick to raise fingers and hurl accusations and abuses at the aforesaid men, women and society. As the old saying goes ‘When you point a finger at someone you are pointing four fingers at yourself. ’ I have no choice but to ask the feminists, social activists and keyboard warriors on social media “What have you done to help resolve or at the very least to ease this situation?” Screaming at the top of your lungs, crying foul, holding banners and street rallies, sharing anti-gender posts are not even worth the time you spare to ‘Share’ or ‘Like’ it.

We need to find a solution by going to the root cause of the problem. We need to start working on the ‘childhood’. A person’s character and moral values are formed essentially within the first five years and then these fundamental sets in or is challenged during teenage. Parents need to be at their careful best during these two age phases. If you are a parent who cannot spend quality time instilling basic values and human fundamentals in your child, you have no business raising your finger at someone else’s failed upbringing. Tomorrow if your child becomes a rapist, emotional baggage, criminal mind, arrogant you will have no one else to blame but you. Being a parent is not another household chore like cleaning or cooking. It is a highly responsible job which every animal that Mother Nature creates knows through basic instinct. Except in a small percent of cases, I squarely can’t find any other reason but failed upbringing and improper education for the increasing number of humans who lack values and culture.

On this Children’s Day my message is for the parent and teachers of our little ones. The popular adage “Matha Pitha Guru Deivam" is highly relevant even today - Mother, Father and Teacher play an important role in the self-realization of goodness within a child. If you are able to set the fundamentals right, the issues and challenges faced by our generation will be non-existent for the future generations. Let’s make the world a better world for our children through them.

“When you have a godly husband, a godly wife, children who respect their parents and who are loved by their parents, who provide for those children their physical and spiritual and material needs, lovingly, you have the ideal unit”. Jerry Falwell

My heartfelt wishes on this Children’s Day and lots of hugs and kisses to all the beautiful kids out there. Keep Smiling, Be Good, Become Great!

This Valentine's Day, Spend Love, Not Money

Image Parivartan Valentines DayValentine’s Day is round the corner and we are sure that some of you are feeling the pinch of being broke and obviously worried about impressing your Valentine.

Don’t worry, if your heart is full but the wallet empty, you could do with these little tips from Image Parivartan on impressing big time without spending a lot.

For a change, skip the coffee shop or the costly romantic dinner, pick out a exclusive recipe and cook a great meal for him or her. Never mind the perfection of the food, taste or the fancy garnishing; the time and effort you spent will certainly score more than any money or gold in the world. Oh, yeah, don’t forget to set a romantic environ with a dim lighted room, aroma candles and make him or her special at the dinner.

Prices of Roses and bouquets zoom up during V-Day. Why not skip that and pick up a few flowers from a garden nearby, beg or steal if needed– yeah, all is fair in love: P Bunch up those flowers in a wrapping/gilt paper and bow, get a friend’s help if you are not good at those fancy touches.

Do we really bother about the greeting cards’ monetary value? Be it a Rs.30/- or a Rs.300/-greeting card as long as it holds the perfect words? How about creating a perfect customized card? I remember taking the screenshots of comments on Orkut from friends on a photo with my fiancĂ© and getting it printed, rolled up and wrapped up in a ribbon, it impressed her in a big way.

You can easily get colour laser prints in A3 size in speciality paper for Rs.30/- Onwards. You just need a little bit of Photoshop skills or take help from a friend to design that special card or collage with those memorable photos.

Take a leave, get out of work early, skip that party with friends and other engagements and let your Valentine know that the day/evening is all about them. Spend time with them, be it watching a romantic movie at home or doing an activity together. O yeah, don’t forget to turn off the cell phone for the evening.

Valentine’s Day is not all about expensive gifts and chocolates as the commercials depict it to be. Customize your Valentine your way! We assure you that your creativity and simplicity will create a bigger impact than any costly gifts or fancy dinner does.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Are you an introvert? Find out here..

Think you can spot an introvert in a crowd? Think again. Although the stereotypical introvert may be the one at the party who's hanging out alone by the food table fiddling with an iPhone, the ‘social butterfly’ can just as easily have an introverted personality.

People are frequently unaware that they’re introverts -– especially if they’re not shy -- because they may not realize that being an introvert is about more than just cultivating time alone. Instead, it can be more informative to pay attention to whether they're losing or gaining energy from being around others, even if the company of friends gives them pleasure.

Despite the growing conversation around introversion, it remains a frequently misunderstood personality trait. Here, let us help you identify if you are an introvert. See if any of these twenty three tell tale signs of introversion apply to you.

You find small talk incredibly cumbersome.
Introverts are notoriously small talk-phobic, as they find idle chatter to be a source of anxiety, or at least annoyance.

You go to parties -– but not to meet people.
If you're an introvert, you may sometimes enjoy going to parties, but chances are, you're not going because you're excited to meet new people. At a party, most introverts would rather spend time with people they already know and feel comfortable around.

You often feel alone in a crowd.
Ever feel like an outsider in the middle of social gatherings and group activities, even with people you know?

Networking makes you feel like a fake person.
Networking (read: small-talk with the end goal of advancing your career) can feel particularly deceitful for introverts, who desire authenticity in their interactions.

You've been called "too intense."
Do you have a penchant for philosophical conversations and a love of thought-provoking books and movies? If so, you're a textbook introvert.

You're easily distracted.
While extroverts tend to get bored easily when they don't have enough to do, introverts have the opposite problem -- they get easily distracted and overwhelmed in environments with an excess of stimulation.

Downtime doesn’t feel unproductive to you.
One of the most fundamental characteristics of introverts is that they need time alone to recharge their batteries. Whereas an extrovert might get bored or antsy spending a day at home alone with tea and a stack of magazines, this sort of down time feels necessary and satisfying to an introvert.

Giving a talk in front of 500 people is less stressful than having to mingle with those people afterwards.
Introverts can be excellent leaders and public speakers -- and although they're stereotyped as being the withdrawn, they don't necessarily shy away from the spotlight. Psst: Performers like Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and Emma Watson all identify as introverts.

When you get on the bus/train/air-plane, you sit at the end of the seat -– not in the middle.
Whenever possible, introverts tend to avoid being surrounded by people on all sides.

You start to shut down after you’ve been active for too long.
Do you start to get tired and unresponsive after you've been out and about for too long? It's likely because you’re trying to conserve energy. Everything introverts do in the outside world causes them to expend energy, after which they'll need to go back and replenish their stores in a quiet environment.

You're in a relationship with an extrovert.
It's true that opposites attract, and introverts frequently gravitate towards outgoing extroverts who encourage them to have fun and not take themselves too seriously.

You'd rather be an expert at one thing than try to do everything.
They hate being jack of being all trades, and usually excel in one core subject of interest.

You actively avoid any shows that might involve audience participation.
It is terrifying!!

You screen all your calls - even from friends.
You may not pick up your phone even from people you like, but you’ll call them back as soon as you’re mentally prepared and have gathered the energy for the conversation.

You notice details that others don't.
Research has found that introverts exhibit increased brain activity when processing visual information, as compared to extroverts.

You have a constantly running inner monologue.
Most introverts need to think first and talk later. They constantly are talking to themselves in their mind.

You have low blood pressure.

A 2006 Japanese study found that introverts tend to have lower blood pressure than their extroverted counterparts.

You’ve been called a ‘wise soul’ since you were 20 year old.
Introverts observe and take in a lot of information, and they think before they speak, leading them to appear wise to others.

You don't feel ‘high’ from your surroundings.
They found that extroverts were more likely to associate the feeling of euphoria achieved by the environment they were in. For example in a high energy concert or DJ party the introvert won’t get a high with the music and environment.

You look at the big picture.
Introverts are more interested in ideas and the big picture rather than facts and details.

You’ve been told to “come out of your shell.”
Introverted adults often say that as children, they were told to come out of their shells or participate more in class.

You are a writer.
Introverts are often better at communicating in writing than in person, and many are drawn to the solitary, creative profession of writing. ‘Harry Potter’author J.K. Rowling  says that being an introvert they feel most creatively charged when they have time to be alone with their thoughts.

You alternate between phases of work and solitude, and periods of social activity.
Introverts can move around their introverted “set point” which determines how they need to balance their life, they keep fluctuating between work, loneliness and social activities.

Tips to increase your water intake

Drink first thing
Place a glass of water by your bed and drink it first thing when you get up. Try drinking it before your usual coffee or tea.

Sip at your desk
Keep a reusable cup or bottle at your desk. When it's empty, go refill it. It's a great way to fit in more steps during the day, too! Neglecting the bottle? Put a sticky note on your computer to remind you to drink up. If that still doesn't work, try setting a reminder alarm on your phone or calendar.

Bring water to go
If you don't have a desk job, or even if you do, toss a water bottle in your bag to sip while you're out and about, it helps your body.

Drink before you eat
When you sit down to a meal, have a glass or two of water before you start to eat. Not only can it serve as a reminder to drink more, but a 2010 study found that drinking two glasses before meals helped people lose 2.26 Kgs more over 12 weeks than people who did not increase their water intake.

Dilute your juice
If you're the type of person who'd rather reach for a sweet sip than plain water, you could fill 1/4 of your glass with 100 percent fruit juice, then topping it off with water or soda.

Skip the carbonated drink
If you find yourself reaching for a sweet carbonated drink that isn't 100 percent fruit juice, use that craving as a reminder instead to grab a glass of H2O. And if you can't quit those bubbles, Plain Soda counts as water.

Give your water some flavour
Still can't get over the bland taste? Use fresh fruit or veggies to flavour your water- Cucumber, lemon, lime and watermelon are tasty options, and high in water themselves.

Track your intake

Just as keeping a food diary can help you key into what and when you're eating, tracking your water intake can similarly shine a light on where you could fit in more fluids. There's even an app for that!

Water does your body and skin good, do no neglect it!

Monsoon Skin Care

Monsoon is the time where your skin behaves a little strange and is often unstable; suddenly it's gets oily or become dry and dehydrated. Hence it is very necessary that you take care of your skin during this season in order to look fresh and beautiful. Following are a few Skincare tips that you need to follow.

CLEANSING
Your skin will require regular cleansing in order to keep it looking fresh and healthy. Follow these home remedies.
Dry Skin: You can use almond paste or honey cleanser. Take ten crushed almonds and make a paste and add two tsp of honey. Massage on face for 5 to 7 minutes, rinse face and pat dry.
Oily Skin: You need a very mild cleanser to get the dead cells and grime off from skin. Use pure oatmeal scrub to cleanse oily skin or use ripe papaya pulp as a mild exfoliant.

TONING
Toning is a must at night. During monsoon, a lot of airborne and water-borne microbes are let loose. So a good anti-bacterial toner will go a long way to prevent skin infections and eruptions. It is a good idea to get anti-bacterial face wash too.
You need to mildly tone a dry skin since the pore size is small. Use five drops chamomile oil in a one tsp milk to tone dry skin and ten drops Lavender oil in one tsp water to tone an oily skin.

MOISTURISING
Moisturising in the rains is as important as it is in summer. Monsoons can mean a de-moisturising effect on dry skin and an over-hydrating effect on oily skin. The skin gets wet often and with the constant wetting and drying, a lot of dehydration (yes, in the rains!) takes place. That explains the itchy feeling one gets during monsoons. Use a non-water based moisturiser, if you happen to get wet often. Otherwise a water- based moisturiser will do.

Dry Skin: Take I tsp honey, I tsp fresh curd and I tsp jojoba oil. Mix all of these together and apply on your face and neck. Leave it on for 10 mins and then wash off with plenty of water.
Oily and Combination Skin: In 2 tsp rose water add 2 drops of strawberry oil and fresh orange oil. Mix and apply on face and neck for 10 mins and then wash off.

Habits of men that most women don't like! ;)

Let’s take a closer look at a few common traits that women detest in their man.

Untidy toilet habits: Often husbands/boyfriends use the bathroom and leave it dirty with muddy footprints and marks. This leads to serious health turnouts and invites diseases. Other acts include reading newspapers and magazines in the bathroom and also smoking in the bathroom.

Wet towel: To a woman’s utter disgust, she often find that husbands/boyfriends keep the wet towel on the bed or on the couch after a bath, and the wife/girlfriend is supposed to put it on the strings to dry.

Scattering shaggy clothes: Women are often victimized by husbands/boyfriends, when he scatters his clothes (including those smelly socks) in the room. The woman’s punishment is to clean those used clothes scattered all around and make them shine up.

Hurried eating: Most often women find that he is in a hurry to finish up everything in his plate even though you might find it filthy.

Cleaning up plates and tables: It is quite normal for some husbands to think, that you are expected to pick-up and clean up the plates, bowls, vessels and the dining table, however, dirty his food habits might be.

Late return: Most husbands/boyfriends don’t feel it necessary to discuss the reason behind late returns. The woman keeps on worrying and bothering but the things remain undisclosed and the hubby/guy doesn’t even feel the need to explain.

Mess in the Kitchen: He might be an over-enthusiastic cook and might want to help u cook a dish, but would never help you clean up the mess that he would create in the kitchen.

Carelessness towards her health: Sometimes you are supposed to inhale the poisonous gas, your husband exhales, when he smokes inside the room. Passive smoking is as if not more dangerous than active smoking.

Husbands/Boyfriends with these habits should certainly try to rectify these mistakes, for the sake of their woman. They deserve a better deal.

Psst: If you girls find any more additions to this you could add a comment below or email us at transform@parivartancta.com ;)
